I’m a lawyer by trade. But first, I was a writer, and then a journalism student. Even as a kid, I loved to write. So I created this place — my sandbox — as a place to write about … well, anything I want to write about.

Plato is credited with first saying “necessity is the mother of invention.” I have been planning to start a blog for a couple of years, and it turns out a stay-at-home order to combat the worst pandemic in 100 years was the push I needed. So I guess Covid-19 is the mother of this blog.

I suspect I’ll write about sports a lot, and make random observations about other topics. This might be a bit of a buffet line, when it’s all said and done. Most of what I write will be brief. But at times, I might go deep. Think about this space as the home of a set of essays, or maybe newspaper columns that might appear on any given day in the Sports, News, or Op-Ed pages.

I hope you read and enjoy my writing, and I invite your comments. I hope my musings entertain you, maybe make you think a bit, or occasionally reminisce. But mostly, I’m doing this for myself — just playing with words in a digital sandbox.

For my hyper short-form, visceral, off-the-cuff commentary on the world, you might follow me on Twitter at @PEVeith.
